A Modern Warfare 3 leak claims a hugely popular map synonymous with Call of Duty is on its way back in Sledgehammer Games' latest release.
According to one notable leaker, the map in question is Shipment, consider us shocked. The iconic small-scale map is no stranger to the Modern Warfare series and is famed for its chaotic gameplay thanks to its compact square design.
As one of the most iconic CoD maps ever made, it wouldn't be at all surprising to see it returning in Modern Warfare 3, especially amongst sll of the other remastered maps coming to multiplayer.
Modern Warfare 3 will launch with all 16 launch maps that first appeared in 2009's Modern Warfare 2 and if the most recent cycle is anything to go by, there's a strong possibility of the developers recycling content to expand the map pool even further.
The leak comes from notable insider MWIIINTEL who has an impressive track record when it comes to accurately predicting what the upcoming Call of Duty title has in store.
The leaker reveals there aren't any plans for Shipment to return when Modern Warfare 3 launches, implying it could arrive as part of the first seasonal update which is rumoured to begin in early December.
Of course, there's always a chance the leak is complete nonsense so make sure to take it with a pinch of salt until Activision and Sledgehammer Games are ready to share more information on its post-launch content plans.
Leaks are nothing new in Call of Duty. Prior to the official reveal of Modern Warfare 3, information on the perks and the gun list were uncovered within the files of Warzone. Who knows what other secrets lie within the battle royale.
The launch of Modern Warfare 3 marks 20 years of the Call of Duty franchise. The prospect of more iconic maps returning isn't out of the question and if there's no Shipment for players to rank up guns fast, there's bound to be some frustrated fans loading into the action.
