The build-up to the launch of Modern Warfare 3 is in full swing. The latest chapter in the Call of Duty franchise is moving into view and ahead of the beta, Sledgehammer Games has shared the first look at multiplayer.
In recent weeks, the developer behind the sequel to Modern Warfare 2 has detailed a wealth of movement changes designed to increase the pace of play in addition to a look at the remastered maps that first appeared in 2009's Modern Warfare 2.
Ahead of Call of Duty Next, Sledgehammer Games has shared the first look at multiplayer with a blockbuster cinematic trailer and the return of a classic soundtrack.
Modern Warfare 3 multiplayer revealed
In classic Call of Duty fashion, the two-minute trailer showcases the quicker movement, some of the weapons on offer, and a variety of killstreaks to the background of Eminem and Nate Dogg's Till I Collapse, which first appeared as a song for Call of Duty back in 2009.
As expected, players patiently waiting for its release shared their excitement. One player says: "Can't wait! Seen glimpses of the new Warzone map in there too!" Another adds: "Clap clap, we are back to the good old days of CoD and I can't wait to play those maps again."
On the other hand, there are some that remain sceptical. One player thinks: "SBMM is still there so we know what's going to happen. We play for two weeks and then it becomes unplayable and we stop."
As with all trailers, it's impossible to determine how well Modern Warfare 3 plays but with the first beta weekend right around the corner, players will have the chance to test the game and come to their own conclusions before the full release in November.
