As the dust settles for this year's The Game Awards, more solid evidence and leaks surrounding Nintendo's Switch 2 circulate online. From convincing descriptions and photos confirming the mock-up leaked earlier this month, it seems like Nintendo has no way of stopping the massive amount of Switch 2 details being shared around.
A Redditor on the r/NintendoSwitch2 subreddit has provided the mods with allegedly concrete evidence surrounding Nintendo's next-gen console. One of the descriptions sent by the leaker is that the console's name is confirmed to be "Switch 2," as shown on the back of the device.
There will be three different models: a dark gray one similar to the original Switch, an all-white model, and another model themed around a game with the number "9" on it.
Fans speculate that the third model might be based on Mario Kart 9, Resident Evil 9, or F-Zero 9.

In addition to the larger screen size and buttons, the leak confirmed that the hall-effect Joy-Cons will be magnetically attached to the Switch 2 tablet, with two larger back buttons used for the Joy-Con release.
The recent video about the Nintendo Switch mock-up reveals that the Joy-Cons are larger than those of the original Switch. This video and the leaked information from the subreddit coincidentally align, further solidifying these as valid leaked information about the device.
Another set of photos from Chinese manufacturers was circulated online, confirming what we saw in the Nintendo Switch 2 video mock-up.
While many believe that these leaks need Nintendo's confirmation to become official—potentially in February 2025, according to the rumors—others remain skeptical about the leaks and the photos circulating online.
Some say that the hall-effect sticks are something that Nintendo will unlikely add. But if Nintendo has a good plan for learning from their mistakes, hall-effect Joy-Cons should be the way to go for the next-gen consoles.
