New Unannounced Kirby Game Teased By Japanese Nintendo Magazine

It looks like Kirby and The Forgotten Land isn’t the only time this pink fluffy icon will be making his presence known this year as a new unannounced Kirby game may have been teased by Nintendo. The news comes from Nintendo Dream magazine in Japan that was released this month, implying that more Kirby is coming soon.

A translation from Twitter user Klu (thanks for the heads up VGC) reads as follows:

“In addition to detailed news about Kirby and The Forgotten Land, we've also included a new game that we didn't expect! I have a feeling that a new title will be announced."

2022 marks Kirby’s 30th anniversary, and Nintendo has previously teased "news regarding #Kirby30 activities coming soon," so a second new Kirby game this year doesn't seem too far-fetched.

Modern Kirby games usually have packed in mini-games as something extra to do and some of them have even been given their own separate release, so this could be the new game that the magazine is referring to. Super Kirby Clash and Kirby Fighters were originally mini-games in separate Kirby games and were eventually given separate releases that have more content, with Kirby Fighters getting a sequel in Kirby Fighters 2 for the Nintendo Switch.

Details on this new Kirby game will supposedly come out on February 21 - with the next Nintendo Dream magazine - so fans of the Smash Bros. icon will want to keep their eyes peeled for whatever this might be.

Kirby and The Forgotten Land will be coming to the Nintendo Switch on March 25.
