Bioware has announced that a “core team” will be working on the next Mass Effect entry. What makes this announcement more interesting is that veterans from the original trilogy are going to work on this game as well. Considering how Mass Effect Andromeda ended up, this should be a sign of good things to come.

On the developer’s official website, they confirmed that the core team working on this new game will have the following names: Mike Gamble, Preston Watamaniuk, Derek Watts, and Parrish Ley. The blog also mentions “others” as part of these returning names, which means this installment could be a return to form for this series.

Interestingly, when discussing this new Mass Effect, Bioware pointed out how they don’t “require support from the whole studio.” Some of these employees will be working on other big projects with EA, whatever those end up being. Hopefully, it’s the upcoming Iron Man game from EA, but we can’t say for sure.

“Given this stage of development, we don’t require support from the full studio,” the statement reads. “We have incredible talent here at BioWare, and so we have worked diligently over the past few months to match many of our colleagues with other teams at EA that had open roles that were a strong fit.”

With Dragon Age: The Veilguard getting plenty of positive reviews from fans and critics alike, it’s a good time to bring back Mass Effect. The company suffered from rushing Andromeda and putting too much focus on Anthem, which many deem as a black eye for this company. Here is hoping that bringing these names back will lead to another successful entry.
