Operation Monarch, the latest Warzone limited-time event (LTE), is well underway. As players drop onto Caldera to battle against Godzilla and Kong in addition to completing a range of challenges, players are sharing their thoughts on the event.
It didn't take long for the likes of Nick "NICKMERCS" Kolcheff and Dr Disrespect to express their opinions on Operation Monarch. Known for expressing their hot takes on Call of Duty's battle royale, fans of the streamers aren't surprised with their thoughts.
Like many fans, the FaZe Clan member and the two-time claim the event is "awful."
NICKMERCS Says Operation Monarch Is Awful
After dropping onto Caldera, NICKMERCS quickly branded the Godzilla versus Kong event as "awful," much to the surprise of those enjoying Raven Software's latest update. "This Warzone event is awful," tweets the streamer. "Maybe we're spoiled from the Fortnite ones, but dam bro. King Kong and Godzilla don't even fight."
The Doc was in agreement after experiencing the event. A May 11 Tweet sees the streamer give Operation Monarch a score of 2.2 out of a possible 10. "What am I... 9 years old?" adds the streamer.
They're not the only ones that aren't fans of the LTE. With a lack of cutscene and no fight between Godzilla and Kong, some fans are wondering why the event is even taking place.
Expectations prior to the start of Operation Monarch were high, with many hoping it could compete with the in-game spectacles that take place in Fortnite. Unfortunately, it appears the latest Warzone event has missed the mark much to the annoyance of players hoping for an all-out war between the two titans.
With the Pacific era of the battle royale slowly nearing its end, let's hope Raven Software has one last spectacle up its sleeve before attention turns towards the launch of Warzone 2.
