As you're wandering through the streets of Night City, do you ever find yourself tired of Cyberpunk 2077’s pretty vanilla weather system? Bored of city centre sandstorms and regular rain showers out in the desert climes of The Badlands?

Well, a mod by Halliphax2, simply called "Weather Randomiser'', might provide the cosmic climate corrections you’re looking for. This clever little mod makes Cyberpunk’s weather match the world space a bit better, while also ensuring effects are a little more varied.

So according to Halliphax2, the mod accomplishes this by increasing the number of weather-to-weather transitions from 18 to 35, allowing for far more variety.

Spice up the Cyberpunk 2077 weather in Night City

Inspired by the work of two other mods, Knochey’s “Enhanced Weather V2” and rmk1234’s “Weather Probability Rebalance”, Halliphax2’s mod provides a number of in-game consequences, some of which you can observe in the time-lapse video below.

However, some of the most prominent of these changes involve the game’s sandstorms, which will now occur often out in the desert. So at least once a day or every couple of days, but then the sandstorms would be much rarer in the city itself. Makes sense, right?

Toxic rain, another of the game’s more aesthetically impressive weather types, will be limited to occurring roughly twice a week. Additionally, sandstorms won’t last for as long as more common weather types.

So for these common weather types, regular sun and rain will occur most often and last the longest, while “fog, pollution, and all three cloudy weather types", for example, "are much more common and fairly cyclical with each other.”

But if the randomness of Halliphax2’s mod proves frustrating to you, you can always try “Holocall Weather - Call NPCs to change weather”. This is a mod uploaded by Janecio14 that gives you a bit more control over things by making calls to certain in-game NPCs that immediately trigger specific weather types.

Both mods are available to install manually or using a mod manager.

But there you have it, if you don't want to keep dealing with city centre sandstorms, then you simply do not have to.
