Street Fighter 6 Officially Announced by Capcom

Remember that Capcom countdown website last week? It's now officially revealed Street Fighter 6 is on the way, and we've got a teaser trailer. Showing a bearded Ryu facing off against Luke Sullivan - Street Fighter 5's last DLC character - we'll be getting more news in Summer 2022.

Unsurprisingly for a teaser no Street Fighter 6 gameplay was shown, though it did seem to showcase the new engine this entry's running on. Close-ups on Ryu’s body showed some impressive detail, and this'll likely be the most visually impressive Street Fighter game we've seen yet.

Street Fighter 6 Officially Announced by Capcom

Luke being promoted alongside Ryu was expected, after Capcom previously announced he'd represent the future of the franchise. We don't know who else is joining the new roster, though we'd expect classic choices like Chun-Li, Guile, and plenty more, going by previous entries.

No release date or platforms for Street Fighter 6 were announced, though given how Street Fighter 5 was only on PlayStation and PC, we might see a similar setup here. In the meantime, Street Fighter 5: Championship Edition is available now.
