Chinese giant NetEase Games has announced massive plans for the free-to-play post-apocalyptic survival game Once Human as it arrives on mobile phones this coming April 2025. Announced during the game's 2024 year-end broadcast, the original version of Once Human will also receive new gameplay features as well as three new scenarios in Q3 2025.
Once Human Mobile will feature multi-device compatibility and NetEase is currently working on optimizing the mobile game to smoothly run on mobile devices.
According to NetEase, Only Human Mobile is the first step into bringing the game to more platforms such as consoles in the future, similar to NetEase's new game, Ananta.

In addition to the new mobile version of Once Human, the original PC version will have three new scenarios later in the year. Check out the details of each scenario below:
- Code: Purification: Players will have to work together to prevent the environment from becoming too polluted in the Code: Purification scenario. This scenario will have multiple endings based on their actions and things they did during the scenario
- Code: Deviation: In this scenario, players will have to capture Deviations, improve them through fusions, and battle against other players' Deviations through different tournaments to earn rewards.
- Code: Broken: This free-for-all PvP-focused scenario will have players battle out each other for ten days. Players will be able to develop super weapons by using gathered resources. Dismantling these weapons is just one of the few ways to counter them if you ever face them on the battlefield.
If you are excited about these updates but feel that April or Q3 2025 is still too far away, don't worry. Players will not have to wait too long to experience brand-new features in Once Human.
Arriving on January 16, 2025, the Visional Wheel is an all-new addition to your existing scenarios, appearing in random moments to ramp up and bring chaos and excitement to these scenarios.
A new gameplay mechanic called the Lunar Oracle will bring an unexpected difficulty spike to players as this event will require players to survive against the damaging moonlight. Players can earn better rewards for doing different activities such as mining and slaying enemies.
Within the first half of 2025, players will be able to create custom servers in the game where they can tweak different scenario and difficulty settings. An early access server will also be available for players to try before publishing their new custom server live.
