Indiana Jones and the Great Circle's positive launch silenced many doubters, and it ended up being a great Indiana Jones game. It has a generally favorable Metacritic score of 86 and a player rating of 100 on OpenCritic.
When it was initially announced, many gamers thought that the game's first-person view would break the immersion of being Indiana Jones and that it was meant to be played in a third-person view.
Instead, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle perfectly utilized the game's first-person view, making it as immersive as the films.
If you ever dreamed of playing Indiana Jones and the Great Circle in third person, your dreams may finally come true.

In a recent X post by @RinoTheBouncer, the game switched to third-person due to a bug. Interestingly, even though the game switched to third-person, Indiana Jones had idle animations that seemed to be developed with a third-person view in mind.
Unlike Cyberpunk 2077's third-person view, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle's third-person view animations look detailed. While it looks weird seeing Indiana Jones flail his waist when the player tries to turn around, the animation can pass up for something, and modders can work something out.
Many gamers feel the game should have a toggleable third-person view, given how it looks in that mode. While this isn't entirely impossible to implement in future updates, Bethesda still wonderfully created an immersive experience through the game's first-person view.
Like Resident Evil Village, many first-person games implemented their third-person views months after their launch, so an official update for Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is still possible.
