Resident Evil Outbreak Remaster Speculation Begins As Capcom Reveal Upscaled Alligator

The Resident Evil website has recently been updated and certain changes have got fans convinced that a Resident Evil Outbreak remake could be on the horizon.

The updated website has added a whole heap of new images, screenshots and descriptions for Resident Evil Code: Veronica, Outbreak, and Outbreak File 2 on the history page.

However, a number of images that appear to show upgraded character models for Resident Evil Outbreak has peaked fans attention.

The initial discovery was originally spotted by Alex Aniel on Twitter, however, to see the new character models fans would need to log into the site using your unique Capcom ID.

Luckily for anyone too lazy to do that, Resident Evil fan account Project Umbrella has tweeted some of the important images to save you the hassle (which you can see below).

The key detail is that the alligator and hyenas from Resident Evil: Outbreak appear to have been given a major revamp. Not just a slight tweak, but a vast improvement of the original renders.

Naturally, this has led to plenty of fans being convinced that a remake or remaster of Outbreak could be on the cards.

After the success of the Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3 Remakes, we can certainly envision a remaster of the Outbreak series. We doubt it would sell gangbusters like RE:2, but we bet it would sell well enough to justify the time and effort on Capcom's part.

This is of course not the only Resident Evil remake rumoured to be in development. As per a report by Fanbyte (and previously VGC), The Resident Evil 4 Remake is reportedly being announced later this year.
