Palworld has earned itself the title of Pokemon with Guns. However, getting to these guns can take a fair bit of dedication on your part. Once you start hitting the higher levels, the materials required for crafting get harder to find. One such problem that halts the progress for a lot of players is being able to reliably find Coal.
Coal is an essential component in the crafting of high-grade technology items such as shotguns, rifles and armour. As such, it's important to identify a good source for this material. Today we'll look at the best spot to farm Coal in Palworld.
While you're on the hunt for Coal make sure to also farm tons of Sulfur and High Quality Pal Oil.
How to find Coal in Palworld
Coal, not to be confused with Charcoal, is a naturally occurring resource that can only be mined from Coal nodes. These Coal nodes function similarly to Ore and Sulfur nodes. They're distinct and easy to spot due to their jet-black colour. The area you want to go to find Coal nodes is the Twighlight Dunes marked with the pickaxes in the image below.
This place is also great for farming other high-level materials but the temperatures here are quite extreme. During the day you'll need heat protection and during the night you'll need cold protection. As such, make ample preparations before you head off into the Twighlight Dunes in search of Coal nodes.
Coal uses in Palworld
The primary purpose of Coal is its use in the crafting of Refined Ingots at the Refined Furnace once you unlock it at level 34. These Refined Ingots are used in the production of shotguns, rifles, high-rarity Pal Gear and much more. Due to the wide use of Refined Ingots, Coal has become one of the most highly sought-after resources in Palworld. We suggest putting down a Palbox to create a base dedicated to the mining and extraction of Coal.
