The right resources can turn tough challenges into victories or cause you to stumble, which is exactly what you’ll experience in Palworld.
One of those hard-to-find resources is the Dark Fragment, a rare material that came with the Feybreak update.
However, obtaining them isn't as simple as it sounds. This article will explain how to find Dark Fragments in Palworld.
How To Get Dark Fragments
Start your hunt for Dark Fragments by checking out Feybreak Island, which is south of the volcanic area.
This island is home to many Dark-type Pals and is the sole location where you can harvest Dark Fragments.
It's a tricky spot with tough enemies and tough terrain, so make sure you're prepared before you try it.
As soon as you set foot on the island, target the Dark-type Pals that are key to collecting Dark Fragments. These Pals include:
- Starryon
Regular Drop: 1-2 Dark Fragments
Boss Version (Midnight Blue Mane Starryon): 1-2 Dark Fragments - Omascul
Regular Drop: 1-2 Dark Fragments
Boss Version (Hundred-Faced Apostle Omascul): 1-2 Dark Fragments - Splatterina
Regular Drop: 2-3 Dark Fragments
Boss Version (Crimson Butcher Splatterina): 2-3 Dark Fragments - Dazzi Noct
Regular Drop: 1 Dark Fragment
Boss Version (Born of the Thunderclouds Dazzi Noct): 1 Dark Fragment - Kitsun Noct
Regular Drop: 1-2 Dark Fragments
Boss Version (Guardian of the Dark Flame Kitsun Noct): 1-2 Dark Fragments - Rampaging Starryon (Predator variant)
Drop: 1-2 Dark Fragments - Rampaging Omascul (Predator variant)
Drop: 1-2 Dark Fragments - Rampaging Splatterina (Predator variant)
Drop: 2-3 Dark Fragments
When you defeat these Dark Pals, they drop Dark Fragments.
Notably, Starryon is a night-dweller, so farming at night gives you the best chance to find it.
The trick to farming Dark Fragments is knowing where to go and what strategies to use.
One of the best places to grab these fragments is the Oculus Gate, Tower in Sight, at coordinates (-1117, -1387) on Feybreak Island.
Omascul hangs out here during the day, while Splatterina and Starryon show up at night.
This place works well for farming, but to farm more efficiently, use the fast travel feature to reset enemy spawns.
After clearing out the area, head back to the waypoint and start the farming loop again.
After you collect enough Dark Fragments, you can craft some top-tier items to make your gameplay better. These include:
- Nyafia’s Shotgun
- Starryon Saddle & Xenolord Saddle
- Double Air Dash Boots & Triple Jump Boots
- Smokie’s Harness
- Dazzi Noct’s Necklace
- Homing Module
Not only do these items make you better at fighting, but they also give you a boost in mobility and utility, which comes in handy for the harder parts of Feybreak Island.
