Where to find Iron Ore in Palworld

First things first, to get Iron Ore in Palworld, you'll need a Pickaxe. Even the lowest-tier Pickaxes will do, but high-level ones will speed up the process. You can make one at your Workbench and bring it when you go exploring for Iron Ore.

Obtaining Iron Ore in Palworld involves locating an Iron Ore deposit and attacking it. The deposit closely resembles regular rocks but sparkles and has a slightly lighter or shinier appearance.

You'll find them anywhere on the terrain, and even in dungeons. By entering a cave, you'll be able to find more Iron Ore deposits, providing an alternative if surface Iron Ore deposits are scarce.

To mine Iron Ore, use your Pickaxe to hit the deposit, and you should be able to collect it. They fill up your inventory storage space pretty quickly, as they are rather heavy. You should be carrying only the essentials when you're out Iron-hunting, or you'll be weighed down.

Having too many items in your inventory makes you walk a lot slower in Palworld. To increase your carrying capacity, you should take Pals such as Broncherry or Cattiva when you're mining Iron Ore.

Here are some locations where you can find lots of Iron Ore deposits:

  • Above the Desolate Church
  • A bit north of the Chillet boss

As Iron Ore deposits replenish over time, it's a good idea to build a base near the deposits that you find. You can build several bases in a Palworld world, so it doesn't have to be your main base. You can assign your Pals to mine for you so that you don't need to be actively there.

While automatic mining through Pals is a viable strategy, you'll require higher-levelled Pals for efficient Iron Ore mining. Your mining Pals should have a Mining Work Suitability of at least level two.

Digtoise, found in the central desert area, is probably the best Pal for this task. While Digtoise can also be found in a far northern area, accessing the desert is easier in the early game. Note that you'll need heat-resistant gear for exploring the desert.
