The Plasma Pistol returns in Halo Infinite, along with other classic weapons like the M41 SPNKR and the S7 Sniper. It's not that powerful compared to its appearance in other Halo iterations, but the Plasma Pistol has some solid uses, especially as a plasma weapon. Here's how you should use it.

How To Use The Plasma Pistol in Halo Infinite
The Plasma Pistol has unlimited ammo, unlike the Pulse Carbine. It just needs to be charged every so often, and if you fire it too much at once, it'll overheat. Despite its electric ability, it can no longer EMP vehicles like in previous games.
Its damage is also minimal, and while it might seem useless as a sidearm compared to the MK50, the Plasma Pistol has other benefits: taking down enemy shields. Normal shots do heavy damage to enemy shields, as with any plasma weapon, but a charged shot will completely destroy a foe's shield. Switch to a kinetic weapon after that and finish the job.
Charged shots also make it easy to overheat, so be aware of your surroundings when you're using the Plasma Pistol.
There's not much else to the Plasma Pistol, thanks to its lower damage and the removed ability of EMP-ing automobiles. It's effective in breaking down shields, though, so don't pass it up as a secondary weapon if you get the chance.
