Rumors about the PlayStation 5 Pro have been circulating the internet ever since the first PlayStation 5 has been released. Finally, during the PlayStation 5 technical presentation by PlayStation lead architect Mark Cerny earlier today, Sony announced the most awaited PlayStation 5 Pro - complete with new tech and features. Cerny started with some features that are currently existing on the PlayStation 5, and how the Pro version will elevate PlayStation titles with its new tech. Featuring a larger GPU, advanced ray tracing, and an AI-driven upscaling custom technology, Players will never have to choose between Fidelity Mode or Performance Mode ever again.

The larger GPU features 28% faster RAM and 45% faster rendering speeds. PlayStation 5 Pro’s ray tracing also gets a major upgrade, speeding the ray calculations up to three times of the PlayStation 5. The new console also gets custom hardware for machine learning. PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution, or PSSR, utilizes AI upscaling by adding more graphical details resulting in a much higher display resolution.

Games such as The Last Of Us 2, Spider-Man 2, and Hogwarts Legacy get a sneak peek at how these games will perform in the PS5 Pro. Shadows and reflections are now more emphasized while keeping framerates higher than their PS5 counterparts.

While the PlayStation 5 Pro is Sony’s most powerful console ever built, the internet has a different reaction to the announcement. Considering the steep price tag of $699.99, gamers all over have started to create memes about the console. Many people think that Sony may be putting up the price tag too high with the PlayStation 5’s limited roster of games.
