Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Rescue Team DX will give the 2006 classic, Red and Blue Rescue Team, a new lease on life with a remaster for the Nintendo Switch.

Pokemon Mystery Dungeon DX gives you the opportunity to become one of TWELVE starter Pokemon; that's right YOU get to play as the Pokemon.

This fun and imaginative strategy game borrows a lot of mechanics from the original series with a few twists along the way.

The original games sold over 5.25 million copies, so it was a no brainer to give this game a much-needed facelift and add all of the awesome features that Pokemon has created since then, such as Mega Evolution.

Reviews

The reviews are in for the game and here's how they stack up:

But how do those scores compare to the original?

What Is Pokemon Mystery Dungeon DX?

Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Rescue Team DXis a remake of the 2006 strategy game set in the Pokemon universe - instead of training Pokemon to battle, you become the Pokemon in battle.

You can meet and recruit Pokemon in a dungeon-crawling adventure within their world.

Build a rescue team to take on mysterious, ever-changing dungeons and strategically plan your moves as you venture forth to make the Pokemon world a safer place.

The 'management sim' side of the game comes in to play when your trusty teammates need somewhere to stay - build camps to house, manage, and strengthen your Pokémon friends.

You’ll move a single square at a time or use Auto mode to speed up movement until you engage other Pokémon in turn-based battles—but don’t forget about Pokemon strengths and weaknesses!

Pokedex

Pokemon Mystery Dungeon DX features its own Pokedex with over 400 Pokemon, including those from Generation 4.

In the original game, Generation 4 was not included as it arrived in the same year as the game launch.

The Pokedex features all Pokemon from Generation 1-3, but only a select few from Gen 4 (which were datamined before release).

All of these new Pokemon are part of an existing evolutionary chain in the game and make for a natural fit.
