As you progress through Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, you're going to be gathering a ton of different resources to beef up your Pokemon's strength. One of the ones you'll run into is Pokemon Scarlet and Violet bottle caps. But what are these bottle caps used for, and how do you get more?
In Pokemon, there's various means to boost your Pokemon's stats. These can range from things like Vitamins to Feathers, or even held items. The first two are meant to help EV train your pokemon, while held items can help boost stats in battle. Bottle caps are more in line with the first few items, and they're incredibly powerful.

What are Pokemon Scarlet and Violet bottle caps?
Bottle caps in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are resources that are used to help with training your Pokemon's IV's. You can hand over some of these precious caps to a gentleman in Montenevera (where the Ghost type gym is) and he will allow you to "Hyper Train" a Pokemon. He's located right on the other side of the Pokemon Center. You can actually see him when you fly into Montenevera.
The Pokemon needs to be level 50 or higher, and it will cost one bottle cap per stat you wish to hyper train. When you hyper train a Pokemon, the IV's of the stats you pick will be boosted and be incredibly strong.
Where do I find more Pokemon Scarlet and Violet bottle caps?
As you progress through the game, you'll find some of these bottle caps in a couple different places. Initially, they can be found as random rewards from four and five-star Tera raids. Unless you plan on farming these raids, this isn't the most effective way to get a hold of them.
Once you obtain six gym badges, you'll be able to purchase bottle caps from certain Delibird Presents shops around Paldea. You can buy them from the Delibird Presents shops in Mesagoza, Cascarrafa, and Levincia. They cost 20,000 Poke Dollars, so they aren't cheap.
There are also gold bottle caps that are available in the game, but they can only be found in the Porto Marinada auction house. They aren't being offered all the time, and you do have to win the bid to get it, so come with a lot of Poke Dollars.
