Spoiler warning - there's a new Tauros in town, and it's coming to Generation 9 with the release of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. Here's a quick look at how to get Paldean Tauros forms.
Right now, there are hundreds of leaks from Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. We are inclined to believe they are real portions of the game, but there is still a chance they are intricate fakes. Regardless, below is what we've seen of the new Tauros that we can find in Paldea.
Generation 9 is nearly here, and we suggest checking out our full Pokedex list of officially spotted Pokemon right here in the mean time. Here is where you can pre-order Pokemon Scarlet and Violet ahead of release.
How to get Paldean Tauros in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet
Good news, fans of Generation 1, Tauros is back and has had a regional makeover (or three)! The Paldean Tauros form is pure black with grey horns and is now a Fighting type instead of Normal.
The new Pokédex entry states this:
"This Pokémon has a muscular body and excels at close-quarters combat. It uses its short horns to strike the opponent's weak spots.
Are there different Paldean Tauros forms?
One new Fighting-type Tauros isn't all we're getting in Scarlet and Violet, either. The Fighting-type is called the Combat Breed, but there are two more to catch...
The second new type we've seen is an Aqua Breed, a Water/Fighting Tauros, which has bigger, bubbly horns and blue accents in its fur. The other Tauros form is Blaze Breed - a Fire/Fighting type, which has forward-facing, pointy horns, and a twisted tail, with red accents.
Where to catch the different Paldean Tauros forms
The Paldean Tauros doesn't evolve, nor can the three forms be switched between one Pokémon. They are all separate, catchable Pokémon that reside in different parts of the Paldea Region.
The best places to find Tauros in Paldea are the West Province and East Province at any time of day or night. The trick is, that the new Fire and Water forms will spawn in amongst a herd of other Tauros, making them tricky to spot, and even trickier to aim at with a ball.
It is also very important to note that the two forms are version exclusives. If you have Pokémon Scarlet, you'll find the Blaze Breed, and if you have Violet, you can get the Aqua Breed.
