While most are finding Pokemon Scarlet and Violet a fun game, some are disappointed enough by the performance issues and glitches to justify asking for a Pokemon Scarlet and Violet refund. And there is a way to go about it. It's just not guaranteed that you'll get one.

All this comes as articles make their rounds on the internet, telling a story about how one individual managed to get a Pokemon Scarlet refund. Getting one isn't as easy as clicking a few menu options in Steam, though. Here's how it works.

How to get a Pokemon Scarlet and Violet refund

To get a Pokemon Scarlet and Violet refund, you first need to have bought the game digitally through the Nintendo eShop.

If you paid for a code from another reseller, store, or bought it physically, you're already out of luck - unless your physical game store is willing to refund the game under the idea of it being "broken". Which is fair, but not expected.

To refund Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, though, you need to call up Nintendo directly and ask politely.

Again, the company isn't required to give refunds for the game, but if you can make your case - and have an apologetic representative - there is evidence to suggest they can, in some situations, agree to revoke your access to the game and refund the purchase price.

As for how to call up Nintendo, that depends on where you live. You should be able to find a customer service phone number on the Nintendo website for your country.

Though the game's certainly aren't completely unplayable (you can see everything, do everything, and reach the credits, for example), the performance issues can likely cause motion sickness, headaches, and naesea in some players, making it unfit for use through no fault of their own.

If that's honestly the case for you, it's the angle you'll want to use when trying to request a refund for the games. We haven't tested it for ourselves, however, so this isn't some proven advice - just a thought.
