The launch of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet is right around the corner, and Nintendo has dropped some information about exclusive in game items you can get! One of these cool new exclusives that you can get within the game is a Rotom phone case. This will replace the red shell of your Rotom phone with a fancy Pokemon-themed case.
As with most Pokemon games, you have some kind of technical device to aid you on your journey, and in this game, it's the Rotom phone. This device holds your Pokedex, phone, and many other useful features within the game, and we'll show you how you can stylize yours with a case.

How to get Rotom phone cases in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet
In order to get your Rotom phone case in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, there are a few things that you need to do first. The first one is probably the hardest one to do and that is you need to have save data on your Nintendo Switch for one or more of the following games:
- Pokemon Let's GO Pikachu or Eevee
- Pokemon Sword or Shield
- Pokemon Brilliant Diamond or Shining Pearl
- Pokemon Legends Arceus
If you have one of these, then you're off to a good start. The next step will require you to talk to the woman who is in front of the stairs leading up to Mesagoza's Central Plaza. This will be roughly two hours into the game, so you'll have to rock the red Rotom phone for a little while. After talking to her, you should receive any Rotom phone cases that you're eligible to get.
It also appears that you'll be able to purchase Rotom phone cases in-game as well. There are generic cases, and starter-themed cases as well.
What do the Rotom phone cases look like?
Each of these phone cases have a different feel to them based on what save you have. The Let's Go case is a lime green case with both Pikachu and Eevee on it. The Sword and Shield one has a Pokéball aesthetic.
The Diamond and Pearl one blacks out the case and shows what looks like a screen on the back of it. Finally, the Arceus case looks to be inspired by the Pokemon itself, with a white and gold colour scheme.
As for the cases that you can purchase in-game, the starter cases all are themed after the three starters. The generic ones that we've seen so far are green and yellow, but we'd assume that there will be other colours to simply change the colour of your Rotom phone.
And that's all we have for you! If more cases come out, we'll be sure to update this guide to tell you how to get them. While you're here, why not check out some of our Pokemon Unite guides, such as our Pokemon Unite tier list!
