They've included the ability to reduce or disable the feedback from the "rumble" that comes with the controller.

Some of these include text-to-speech, inverted colours and more, but they're going further with it.

Haptic response, what is it?

The phrased has been floating around recently due to a new setting on the PS5.

According to Sony the new vibration system on the DualSense controller is an advancement on past versions.

To explain it simply, ever been in a game and there's been an explosion, then your controller begins to vibrate violently?

That's what haptic response is, it's a form of immersion using one fo your sense apart from sight.

It looks like Sony intend to make this feature optional.

_Caprica on Twitter posted an image on Twitter of a section of the PS5 instruction booklet.

It states that the vibration system can actually be switched off in the Accessories tab in Settings.

Hey so I have a DualSense and thought it important to highlight this bit from the instruction manual. You can turn off vibration and trigger resistance from the PS5 console. pic.twitter.com/Lb5yG7dRhu

The manual reads, “Do not use the vibration or trigger effect features if you have any ailment or injury to the bones, joints, or muscles of your hands or arms. If you have an ailment or an injury, do not play titles with these features using the controller unless you have set those functions to ‘Off’.”

We love to see inclusivity in gaming.

This is a prime example of something that many wouldn't see as an issue.

Although, for those with disabilities, whether that be joint issues or otherwise, haptic response may not be seen in the positive light you or I see it in.

So, it's great to see that Sony is bearing in mind their whole community when creating the PS5 and DualSense controller.

"PlayStation 5 will offer a voice dictation feature to quickly input text without the use of a virtual keyboard," Sony wrote.

"Simply speak the words and they’ll appear on-screen. Screen Reader provides blind and low vision users with options to hear on-screen text, while deaf and hard of hearing users can type text messages, which will be spoken out loud to other party members."

"These features will now support multiple languages(*) on PS5 globally. Along with Accessibility Settings for Button Assignments and Closed Captions that were also available on PS4, PS5 additionally supports color correction which allows users to adjust color, and in supported games, game presets will allow users to customize their common settings in advance."

"PS5 will also include improved audio enhancements to provide players with better spatial awareness."
