Halo Infinite has a strong ranking system attached to the game's battle pass. While it does reward players for progressing, these bonuses might be considered a little too easy to obtain by some.

That's according to 343 Industries, who has deemed the scheme as "overly generous" in a new Halo Waypoint update. Because of this, players will see their ranks lowered and a release period has been hinted at.

343 asserts that the scheme isn't in line with the expectations they had in mind. The reasoning is due to players being placed in levels far above their skill level, speculating that it is far too easy to progress.

Since we saw that the CSR system was being overly generous since launch, these changes are being rolled out to help bring things closer in line to where they should be.

To counteract this, players will be demoted in rank by an entire tier. This means that if you carry a Diamond certificate, you will be lowered to Platinum, and so forth. The reset won't be too disruptive, as the developer ensures players will spend less time in levels below their true skillset:

Typically, after you complete your placement matches, your CSR is a little lower than where the system thinks you'll end up after playing for a while. Since ranks are being reset in the middle of the season, this will be reduced to help make sure you have a shorter climb after your placement matches.

The reset is expected to hit on Tuesday afternoon (February 22nd).

Along with this update, Halo Infinite is planning to launch Forge Mode and another classic feature very soon, while split-screen co-op is also coming.
