X, in recent times, has become increasingly toxic and has no moderation; this is what Shock4ndAwe, one of the moderators of r/pcgaming, cited before blacklisting the X.com domain from the community, and most of the blame has shifted to Elon Musk.
For those who don't know, r/pcgaming is one of the biggest PC gaming communities on Reddit, with over 3 million followers.
In a post, Shock4ndAwe mentioned that "X has become increasingly hateful, toxic, and less and less moderated. This has, in turn, made us less comfortable with letting our subreddit link it to other people."
Later on, he also mentioned that there were a few distasteful things that Elon Musk did recently that also compromised community ethics.
Elon is currently facing heat over a controversy over an alleged Nazi gesture during his speech at President Trump's inauguration ceremony.
While Elon has clarified the matter on X, he is still under fire.
Nonetheless, as the moderator states, it is not a hardline stance. Freedom of viewpoints and expression will remain. Users will also be allowed to submit relevant content from X, but only as screenshots, provided they do not violate any other guidelines.
This is not the first time X has faced this kind of backlash. Since Elon Musk took over X, it has been constantly criticized for becoming a hub of controversial content.
Many reports indicate a surge in posts celebrating racism and anti-Semitism, with algorithms allegedly promoting such content.
Musk's controversial statements from time to time have exacerbated concerns about the platform's direction.
Not to mention, he has been accused of cheating by the gaming community for account-boosting.
During an episode of the Joe Rogan's podcast, he received wide exposure for his Diablo 4 and PoE competitive achievements, but later, there rose suspicions when gamers noted despite his high rank, he had only played HC level of 97.
