Cheating has no place in games but it doesn't stop a handful of players from using hacks to gain an unfair advantage over the opposition.
As Warzone and Vanguard players turn their attention toward the launch of Season 4, the team behind Ricochet has shared an update on how it's dealing with hackers in the battle royale and multiplayer.
While the attention of some is already turning to the launch of Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2, the anti-cheat reveals bans for over 180K cheaters since the second half of April.
Ricochet Bans 180K Hackers
Despite the best efforts of Ricochet and Activision, there are always some hackers that manage to slip through the net. In a June 16 blog post, Ricochet outlines over 180K cheaters have received permanent bans but also states more work is needed.

To ensure levels of cheating remain low, Ricochet asks players to use the in-game reporting feature so it can tackle any suspect players quickly. In addition, it also requests legitimate players use two-factor authentication to guarantee the safety of their accounts.
Ricochet also shows the effectiveness of its system and player reporting with a graph showing a significant reduction in the number of hackers.
"Ricochet anti-cheat continues to get smarter and better as time progresses. Will you encounter cheaters? Sadly, perhaps yes, but we are working endlessly to be faster and better to get them out of the game (by force or by annoyance) and let your focus on fun."
With the latest update clearly showing the success of Ricochet, many are happy to know that the anti-cheat will feature in Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 as soon as both titles launch.
