Rockstar Games Is Working On An Open-World VR Game

GTA Online is the gift that keeps on giving, but with GTA 6 some way away, is there more to come from Rockstar in the interim?

A new project is being developed by Video Games Deluxe for Rockstar, and a LinkedIn announcement has revealed some interesting pieces of information, as reported by GTAForums.com.

Is The Next Rockstar Project A VR Game?

According to the LinkedIn announcement, the team is in its seventh year of working for Rockstar in Sydney and are gearing up for a "new project, a AAA open-world title in VR for Rockstar".

That's quite the promise, but the team has experience in VR. Their last title, L.A. Noire: The VR Case Files, was impressive.

The open positions don't mention Rockstar by name, but they do note that applicants will be working on an open-world VR project.

While we can speculate on what the new game could be, the team's relatively small size would suggest a Rockstar port is more likely. Could we see the re-emergence of Bully as a VR title? That has open-world elements, but of course, the favourites are GTA and Red Dead Redemption. We suppose Midnight Club wouldn't be out of the question, either.

If only Rockstar's Table Tennis was open-world, eh?
