Here are some of the key differences between Samsung's Galaxy S line phones.
Samsung Galaxy S22 Vs Samsung Galaxy S21 Design
When it comes to the design, the new Galaxy S22 seems to keep the same basic look as last year's Galaxy S21.
However, last year's S21 model featured a plastic back, but this year, Samsung has decided to equip the Galaxy S22 with a glass back.
For us, we feel that the glass back gives the new phone a more premium aesthetic and it should feel excellent too.
Plus, the glass on the screen has been upgraded from last year's Gorilla Glass Victus to Gorilla Glass Victus Plus, which is said to be 12.5% stronger.
The colour schemes for the two models are also different.
The Samsung Galaxy S21 is available in four colour choices with violet, grey, white and pink.
The Galaxy S22 model offers black, white, pink/gold and green colour choices as well as graphite, cream, sky blue and violet exclusively on Samsung's website.
Samsung Galaxy S22 Vs Samsung Galaxy S21 Price
The Samsung Galaxy S22 features a starting price of £769 / $799 for the 128GB model and £819 for the 256GB model.
This is the same initial pricing that was used for the Samsung Galaxy S21 when it was released back in January 2021.
This means, that you won't have to pay anything more for the latest upgrade, however, you can likely find the Galaxy S21 discounted at various retailers.
For example, at the time of writing, you can get the Samsung Galaxy S21 for £669 at Amazon UK, saving you £100.

Samsung Galaxy S22 Vs Samsung Galaxy S21 Specs
When it comes to power, the Samsung Galaxy S22 improves upon last year's model with more up to date and more powerful chipsets.
The Galaxy S21 features either a Snapdragon 888 or Exynos 2100 chipset while the Galaxy S22 offers a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 or Exynos 2200 chipset.
While both phones still offer a decent amount of power and speed, the newer chipset in the Galaxy S22 exceeds that of the S21.
Both models feature 8GB of RAM and either 128GB or 256GB of storage, which should be more than enough to store all your files and handle multitasking comfortably.
Like many of the best phones to date, both models also offer 5G capabilities, allowing for ultrafast connectivity.
The new Galaxy S22 also features Bluetooth 5.2, which is an improvement over the S21's Bluetooth 5.0.
Samsung Galaxy S22 Vs Samsung Galaxy S21 Battery
Surprisingly, the older Samsung Galaxy S21 actually packs a larger battery than the new Galaxy S22 model.
The Galaxy S21 offers a 4,000mAh power bank, whereas the Galaxy S22 features a slightly smaller, 3,700mAh battery.
Both models feature wireless charging capabilities and come with WirelessPowerShare built-in, allowing you to charge up other compatible devices from your phone.
Samsung Galaxy S22 Vs Samsung Galaxy S21 Camera
When it comes to the camera, both models offer a triple-lens configuration for the main rear camera, however, the specs are slightly different.
The S22 offers a 50MP wide, 12MP ultrawide and 10MP telephoto lens, while the Galaxy S21 features a 12MP wide, 12MP ultrawide and 64MP telephoto lens.
Both models share the same 10MP front-facing selfie camera too.
Samsung Galaxy S22 Vs Samsung Galaxy S21 Display
For the display, the Galaxy S21 features a 6.2-inch AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and 1080 x 2400p resolution and 1,300 nits of peak brightness.
The Samsung Galaxy S22 features a slightly smaller 6.1-inch display with Dynamic AMOLED technology, 120Hz refresh rate, a 1080 x 2340p resolution and 1,500 nits of peak brightness.
This should mean both displays look seriously sharp and clearly visible even in well-lit environments.
