If you're after navigating the twists and turns of The Sunken Pearl, then your timing couldn't be more perfect, as we know everything about how to complete The Sunken Pearl Tall Tale in Sea of Thieves.
Sea of Thieves: A Pirate's Life is a complimentary story campaign and part of a crossover with The Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, integrated into the game with the Season Three update. Expect to experience finding yourself alternating between highs and lows as you navigate through puzzles, defeat formidable foes, and hunt for something elusive.
The majority of adventurers even abandon their journey halfway through the tall tale, partly because they're at a loss on how to proceed. Tall tales in Sea of Thieves aren't as basic as they seem at first glance, but you can ensure your adventure goes off without a hitch with our walkthrough.
How to complete The Sunken Pearl Tall Tale in Sea of Thieves
You can't set off on the quest until A Pirate’s Life Tall Tale is resolved, which can be initiated by voting at the Castaway's Camp on any Outpost. Search the right wall for a blue-coated pearl, and interact with it to trigger the quest.
As soon as the box appears, the title and summary of the Tall Tale will abruptly appear, so capitalize on it. Below is the walkthrough for completing The Sunken Pearl Tall Tale.
Enter the Black Pearl to Retrieve the Key
The last two sections of your quest book contain clues revealing the whereabouts of the Black Pearl. Once the tall tale gets going, you should at least catch sight of a radiant blue glow emanating from the southwest corner of the map. That's where your voyage truly starts, or perhaps where the genuine rush starts pulsing through your veins.
As you approach the glowing spot, you'll feel it more, especially with the music cranking up. Dive in and rummage for the key underwater. It sounds trickier than it is, but you’ll stumble upon a track of debris pointing the way to the Sunken Pearl.
Swim toward each fragment until you reach the sunken vessel, not too far from the Black Pearl. A set of stairs will slope downward from an opening situated at the top right in front of the wheel. If you notice a crawler adorned with blue barnacles, engage with it to retrieve the key.
Obtain Jack Sparrow's Compass
The Captain's Quarters is just a stone's throw away from where you retrieve the key. Swim back and you'll find it perched on the upper deck of the ship. The glaring hint is a pair of grand double doors flanked by statues on both sides.
Access the doors using the Black Pearl key. Once the doors are swung open, Jack's compass will be right there on the table for all to see. Jack's Compass is set up via the Map Radial, making it about as far from a regular compass as you can get.
Decipher the Siren Spire Puzzles to Get the Silver Blade Key
When you're already on the surface, you can either return to your ship or a saved point. You can depend on Jack's compass to lead precisely to Siren Spire. You'll be greeted by six puzzles to crack when you arrive. Take the first crack at aligning the sirens' arms to match the images on the wall and hit the center statue to solve the puzzle.
This will trigger the water flow to advance and unlock the next areas. You will repeat the process with the second puzzle to ensure that each siren's arms match with a new image. Firing upon the statue will then trigger the water flow once more and open the route to the next section of the cave. To solve the third puzzle, hunt down the last siren, which might be on a ledge, and then fire the conch shell at it to manipulate its arm.
Water will once again flood the room, thereby granting access to the second area. Take part in underwater battles, defeat the sirens, and retrieve the Siren Heart they drop as soon as they are defeated. Placing it in the statue near a stone door unseals it, revealing the Siren Citadel. There, you'll solve another siren puzzle, lower the water level in the room, defeat the enemies, and retrieve the fourth journal from a hole filled with water to the right of the door to progress.
Later on, fire through the cracks at the statues, triggers the conch to fill the room and retrieve the Silver Blade Key from the red cave for the final siren puzzle. Activate the pulley and follow the trail to the next cave, but avoid holes in the floor at all costs.
Defeat the Kraken and its Swarm
The Kraken is the type that hunts you down even more relentlessly than you hunt it, but this time, the tables are turned. The final area will demand that you clamber onto the ship to set off for the next combat. The Kraken, with its overwhelming swarm, will then show up, apparently showing no mercy whatsoever. But if you have bested even more potent foes, then it wouldn’t even be a test to take him down.
Make use of any weapons that are available to take out any extra enemies he's accompanied by. Defeating the Kraken in less than 5 minutes is possible with cannonballs and by aiming all attacks at its head.
To play it safe, dodge its spiked tentacles and other attacks and retreat to the quarters if you're unsure about your next move. Repeat the tactics, but synchronize them with optimal timing and movement to defeat him without needing to resort to great lengths.
Outmatch the Siren Queen
Having obtained the chest of everlasting sorrow, you are now primed for the final leg of the Tall Tale quest. Roaming the cave passages will require you to haul yourself up the ladder.
You'll know that you've encountered the correct door when it's unlocked by the chest itself. The ancient markings etched onto the rocks provide the means to reopen the door and confront the queen of all sirens.
As you catch a glimpse of the cursed statues just beyond the ruined partition, you find yourself in the queen's lair, where she traps her prisoners. Release them by firing upon the cursed statues you just walked past. If you want to defeat all the sirens and their queen in the game, tridents are the way to go. This weapon projects energy spheres, causing damage and is likely to force them to retreat.
Tridents feature both a standard attack and a charged attack. Holding the fire button extends the attack's reach. If the trident has only 1 or 2 charges left, the bubble will no longer expand. But it can be all over the place, so keep your eyes on the move in case you need a spare.
Launch attacks with your trident, but remain out of reach of either the hordes of sirens or the queen herself. Putting the queen in her place won't be too demanding, so with agile movement and sharp aiming, she won't stand a chance.
