A Shiba Inu game may still burn SHIB despite previous comments suggesting it wouldn’t, after a tweet from Shytoshi Kusama.

SHIB burns are a major pillar for the Shiba Inu community, with large burns gaining major support from SHIB holders. While aspects of the ecosystem such as Shibarium and the Shiba Inu Metaverse will implement burns, this mechanism was never confirmed to be a part of a Shiba Inu game.

However, a comment from Shytoshi in response to criticism from a holder may suggest burns could come to a SHIB game in some form.

Shiba Inu Game Burn?

After posting a tweet about a Shiba Inu pitch, SHIB project lead Shytoshi Kusama received some comments demanding further burns.

In response, Shytoshi dismissed these complaints, stating:

You still don't get it, huh? To burn the supply, we have to buy the supply. We don't control the supply, so stop yelling at me and let me work.

In a follow-up, he then explained the various burn mechanics the Shiba team was implementing: “We can create systems that burn the supply,” he said. “Like Shibarium, the Metaverse, the game, etc. So please let us finish!”

The SHIB project lead used the game as an example of a system that could burn the supply of SHIB, in contrast to other comments about Shiba Inu burns and the game. Shytoshi previously said: “All new platforms will have SHIB burns. The only exception is the game.”

Of course, the game may have just been used to make a point about the ecosystem, rather than relating to any specific burn plans.

Alternatively, it may relate to the fabled blockchain version of the SHIB game. Shiba Eternity was already released as a test on mobile devices in Vietnam. Due to App Store/Google Play Store rules about cryptocurrency, it is unlikely these would feature burning directly. However, a blockchain version that incorporates SHIB directly may do.

However, mobile games such as Bricks Buster do already burn SHIB, just not within the app. Profits from the in-game adverts are sent to the dead wallet. Hypothetically, a portion of microtransaction income could be sent to these wallets, too.

Little is known about the blockchain version of Shiba Eternity. The focus remains on the mobile version, which developer William Volk told Planet Crypto at Gamescom would launch in September.

While a burn functionality in this would certainly be appreciated by the community, it is in no way guaranteed, and you’ll need to keep up with the latest Shiba Inu news when it happens for further confirmation.
