Latest Shiba Inu (SHIB) news

Shibarium Beta goes live

The Shibarium beta is now live. Users are free to test out the upcoming layer 2 network via the Shibarium website. Alongside its release, a short article on the beta and what users should expect when using the layer 2 network was posted to ShibaSwap.

Dubbed Puppynet, Shibarium beta tokens cannot be used in exchange for real money due to being test net tokens.

Shiba Inu ecosystem tokens are on the rise

SHIB has climbed 70% in the last 30 days in anticipation of Shibarium's launch. Other ecosystem tokens such as LEASH and BONE have followed in SHIB's wake, committing to price increases of their own.

Shibarium Beta is on the way

The team behind Shibarium surprised Shiba Inu holders with news of their upcoming Shibarium L2 network. Even though no official release date has been set, the Shibarium beta will be available very "soon."

Shiba Inu fans believed the Shibarium beta would launch in late 2022 but the team could not stick to the date.

SHIB x Bugatti

Shiba Inu has partnered with the Bugatti Group to release Shiba Inu merchandise. Bugatti Group is a Canadian manufacturer of accessories, handbags and briefcases since 1940.

WEF x Shiba Inu

The Shiba Inu team has been approached by the World Economic Forum to help shape global metaverse policy.

In related news, the metaverse advisor of Shiba Inu, Marcie Jastrow, is set to attend the Immerse Global Summit in Miami, Florida.

Crypto.com reserves contain SHIB

Cryptocurrency exchange Crypto.com disclosed that 20% of their reserves are held in Shiba Inu. The news surprised many crypto investors and Shiba Inu holders.

New concept art for SHIB: The Metaverse

The Shiba Inu team has also unveiled a new colour concept art of Growth Dunes and Tech Trench for its upcoming SHIB: The Metaverse launch.

Shiba Eternity platers guide, Ryoshi Vision and more

The lead developer of Shiba Inu, Shytoshi Kusama, has revealed a new NFT drop for the Shiba Inu community.

Kusama also released the Shiba Eternity players' guide on November 2. He later announced that he's working towards launching Shibarium and will soon release an update for the same.

Finally, the Shiba Inu ecosystem decided to end its relationship with the Ryoshi Vision.

Shiba Inu updates

Alongside the latest Shiba Inu news, there are countless projects on the go within the Shiba Inu ecosystem. Here’s the latest on a handful of these.

Shiba Eternity

Developed by PlaySide Studios in collaboration with Shiba Inu, the Shiba Inu Eternity game has been launched on Android and iOS.

Dubbed a unique card collectable game, the Shiba Inu Eternity is only available for Apple users for now. The team is also working on releasing an Android version of the game in the near future.

The official SHIB Discord now has a channel dedicated to Shiba Eternity, with future announcements expected to come pretty soon as development nears the end.

Shibarium

This Layer-2 solution is the SHIB community’s most anticipated project. With a launch due in early 2023 SHIB holders are planning and preparing to build their own projects on top of Shibarium, including NFT marketplaces.

The Shibarium Hackathon could even help fund such projects.

Shiba Inu Metaverse

The Shiba Inu team has revealed new Growth Dunes and Tech Trench concept art ahead of its metaverse launch.

Per a recent update shared by Shytoshi Kusama, the Shiba Inu team may soon assist the WEF in shaping global metaverse policy.

After the SHIB Metaverse Land Sale first launched, it appears the metaverse has shifted into its next phase of development. Shiba Inu has announced several new hires set to work on its metaverse. These include prominent tech and entertainment veterans coming onboard as developers or advisors.

The most recent of these saw SHIB bring onboard The Third Floor - a visualisation studio that has worked on Marvel and Star Wars films in the past.

The platform recently unveiled "dunes," a new concept art depicting desert imagery and sand mounds inspired by Egypt and Colorado.

New Shiba Inu tokens

The Shiba Inu ecosystem currently comprises SHIB, BONE and LEASH, alongside Shiboshis and metaverse land. However, Shiba Inu is set to expand with two new tokens.

The SHI stablecoin is among these new tokens. Originally intended to be an algo-stablecoin (although the Luna crypto crash may have impacted this design), it could be tied to 1 cent, using LEASH as a peg.

We don’t know much else about SHI, although it is still set to launch in 2022.

Outside of SHI, another token known as TREAT will also release to replace BONE as a ShibaSwap reward. Since it was only just announced, we know even less about TREAT.

Shiba Inu price

The current Shiba Inu (SHIB) price is $0.00001345 with a market cap of $7.9 billion. The token is up13% over the last 30 days. The token is -84% below its all-time high of $0.00008616, reached on October 28, 2021.

Shiba Inu burns

At the time of publication, a total of 410,384,701,999,999 Shiba Inu has been burned. While most of this came from Vitalik Buterin’s massive burn, the SHIB community destroyed 70 billion tokens in the first six months of 2022.

Of this SHIB burned, the Shiba Inu burn portal has destroyed over 60 billion SHIB since it first launched in April.

This next phase for SHIB burning should see community and official burns go hand-in-hand, as projects such as Shibarium and the metaverse promise some sort of burning mechanics. Meanwhile, community games, NFTs, products and more will all continue their burns.

In July 2022, 4,762,745,494 SHIB was sent to the dead wallets, around 200 million SHIB more than in June 2022.

So far in February 2023, a total of 410,385,107,202,216 SHIB has been burned.
