Silent Hill 2 Remake is already accessible to fans who purchased the game's Deluxe Edition. Aside from having excellent reviews and scores on Metacritic and OpenCritic, Silent Hill 2 Remake is sending fans into a horror wonderland with amazing sound engineering and audio design. From spooky echoes to environmental sounds, Silent Hill 2 Remake is bringing shivers to every horror fan's spine thanks to its clever use of the DualSense controllers and spatial audio.

With an overall great narrative and technicalities, the game and the developer Bloober Team are receiving huge praise for how Silent Hill 2 Remake was well-made. Many fans have started to compare it to the recent remakes of Resident Evil and some say that it goes up to that level of how the Resident Evil games were remade.

Originally posted on Reddit by user u/Supesharisuto, they shared a screenshot of an X post by Twitch horror streamer CarcinogenSDA, stating that the Silent Hill 2 Remake is the best Silent Hill game in a long time. The streamer also shared that the game goes up to par with Resident Evil 1 and 2 remakes.

Fans praised Silent Hill 2 Remake's puzzles and exploration, while others compared the level design to the Resident Evil games. While these two franchises may have similar-level designs, some gamers say that they both play differently. Silent Hill banks on its psychological horror approach while Resident Evil capitalizes on its survival-horror mechanics and gameplay. While this may be the case, Silent Hill fans are still happy that their favorite game gets compared to the excellent Resident Evil remakes.

Others said that James Sunderland, Silent Hill 2's protagonist, "isn't Leon". Resident Evil's iconic Leon S. Kennedy is far from James, as James is just an everyman, someone that almost all Silent Hill franchise protagonists are. What that entails is that James is like everybody - no special skills or military training - and it makes him more relatable with the psychological themes Silent Hill 2 Remake portrays. Leon may be great in the Resident Evil series, but James' relatable nature works perfectly well with the horror Silent Hill 2 Remake is trying to portray.

Silent Hill 2 Remake launches on October 8, with early access 48 hours before launch for Deluxe edition owners. October is indeed a great month for horror fans: Resident Evil and Silent Hill fans alike.
