The Jukebox Puzzle is one of many Silent Hill 2 Remake puzzles that require players to explore multiple locations. This task is in Neely's Bar, where James Sunderland must restore a broken jukebox to progress the story.

It is one of the early puzzles you must solve to access new areas and continue the search for clues about James' wife, Mary. This article explains how to complete the Jukebox Puzzle in Silent Hill 2 Remake.

When first interacting with the jukebox, it will eject a broken vinyl record.

There’s a rotor, a lever, and a record tray inside the jukebox. You won’t be able to continue until you collect specific items; setting the machine up now will save you time later. Here’s how:

  • Connect the rotor to the record tray.
  • Slide the record tray arm backward.
  • Spin the rotor, press the lever down, and turn the rotor a few extra times.

Next, you must find the items to bring the jukebox back to life. You’ll need the Jukebox Button, the Broken Vinyl Record (and the glue to fix it), and the Neely’s Bar Coin. Each is hidden in different parts of East South Vale.

The first place to check out is the Saul Street Apartments, located south of Neely’s Bar. Once inside, head to the first floor and move a wardrobe blocking a doorway.

This will allow you to find the key to Apartment 5. Head upstairs to unlock the apartment. You’ll find a hole in the wall leading to the neighboring room as you go through the apartment.

Slip through cracks in the walls, keep moving forward, and exit through a window. Use the fire escape to climb to the top floor, where you’ll find a bathroom with a hole in the wall.

When you interact with the hole, James will hesitate but eventually pull out the Jukebox Button. This button will later help operate the jukebox.

The next stop is the Groovy Music store (on the north side of Neely Street). As you enter, you'll encounter two Lying Figures wandering about. After clearing the enemies, smash the glass window in the back room of the store.

You will find the second half of the Broken Vinyl Record and a tube of Vinyl Glue sitting on a table. Now, open your inventory and combine both halves of the record with the glue to create the Glued Up Vinyl Record.

Neely’s Bar Coin is the last item needed, hidden in the Texan Cafe on Katz Street. Head inside the cafe and make your way to the cash register.

After interacting with the register and turning the key, you'll retrieve the coin. An enemy might spawn right after you take the coin, so get ready with any weapons you have acquired.

Now that you’ve gathered all the necessary items, return to Neely’s Bar and follow these steps to solve the puzzle and activate the jukebox:

  • Put the Glued Up Vinyl Record in the record tray.
  • Slide the Jukebox Button into its slot on the left side of the machine.
  • Insert the Neely’s Bar Coin into the coin slot on the right side of the jukebox.
  • Press the C-2 buttons on the jukebox to start playing the record.

The jukebox puzzle solution is the same in Standard and Hard modes.

Once you follow this sequence, a brief cutscene will play, during which James listens to a song from the jukebox.

After a short moment, the machine will malfunction, but it will eject the Neely’s Bar Key as a reward.

This key unlocks a door to the bar's back room, allowing you to progress further and explore new areas.
