Modders have put an awful lot of effort into making sure Skyrim has continually evolved and expanded in the years since it was first released into the world.

Many have focused on changing the game by overhauling iconic quests, revamping menus, and creating interesting player homes, while others have invigorated its roleplaying potential via immersive details like the ability to heal guards even if you’re not a mage.

Meanwhile, some mods go a lot further than this, completely flipping Skyrim on its head. One such project is Skyblivion, which has just received a fresh gameplay stream to go along with its recent release year announcement trailer.

Are you counting down the days until you can jump into Skyblivion for yourself?

Streamed via the Youtube channel Rebelzize, the live gameplay demo, which you can watch in full below, also featured a Q and A session with some of the developers behind the mod.

Starting off at the familiar spot just outside of the Imperial City sewers where players first emerge into Cyrodiil after playing through Oblivion’s intro sequence, the stream certainly doesn’t waste any time flooding your brain with waves of nostalgia.

From here, the Nord warrior dressed in beautiful steel armour being piloted by one of the Skyblivion team makes his way out into The Heartlands region, slaying some enemies using the mod’s version of the infamous Daedric sword Umbra.

As the stream progresses, the modders show off cities like Cheydinhal, Leyawiin and Chorrol, which are currently a bit deserted due to the lack of a navmesh that NPCs could use to navigate areas beyond their homes, while also taking on a few side quests that you might recognise and being receptive to fan requests for looks at different armours such as Elven and Glass.

Later in the stream, you also get to watch a bit of dungeon delving in the Mythic Dawn hideout of Lake Arrius Caverns, as well as a glimpse at how certain armours change to fit the body of a Khajiit character and plenty of looks at the mod’s current UI and map.

For those keen to see more Skyblivion than one stream can offer, the modders recommend checking out the Twitch team page The Adventurers, where you can find more developer streams of the mod in action ahead of its planned release in 2025.
