Modders have put an awful lot of effort into making sure Skyrim has continually evolved and expanded in the years since it was first released into the world.

Many have focused on changing the game by adding new questlines, fresh dungeons, and plenty of cheese wheels to it, with a few even going as far as giving the Dragonborn the ability to summon NPCs by yelling their names or mount their fish collection on their home’s walls.

If you’re someone who loves delving into the fantasy world of The Witcher games just as much as exploring Tamriel, a new mod might be worth taking a look at.

Ever wished you could unleash Geralt of Rivia’s magical abilities in Skyrim?

The mod in question is called ‘The Witcher Signs’, and is the latest work of modder Kittytail. Some of their previous projects have made Skyrim’s combat resemble that of Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice and added a massive end-game dungeon-crawling adventure to it.

This time, they’ve decided to make use of the considerable experience of bringing new spells to the game to recreate Geralt’s signs from The Witcher series as magical abilities available to the Dragonborn.

As you can see in the showcase video above, the mod includes all five of the hexes available to the monster-hunting White Wolf, each with a unique casting effect that mirrors their counterpart in The Witcher 3.

Quen and Igni offer especially spectacular visuals, with the former encasing your character in a pulsating orange bubble of protective energy that make the vanilla game’s wards look a bit shoddy and the latter spewing forth a cascade of sparks that you certainly won’t confuse with the novice flame spell you learned back in Helgen.

That said, don’t expect any of them to offer an easy route to an overpowered build, with Kittytail having made them easily castable “gimmick abilities”, that won’t be as powerful as many of the expert-level spells included in the game or other mods.

If you’re still sold on adding them to your arsenal, you’ll need to head to a blacksmith’s forge, where you’ll be able to combine some glow dust with a ruined or burned book to craft the spell tomes you’ll need to learn each sign.

Regardless of whether your Dragonborn is now setting off to hunt a beast armed with two swords, these signs and a healthy dollop of sarcastic wit, make sure to follow us for more updates on The Elder Scrolls 6 and the interesting world of Skyrim modding.
