Modders have put an awful lot of effort into making sure Skyrim has continually evolved and expanded in the years since it was first released into the world.

Many have focused on changing the game by adding new questlines, fresh dungeons, and plenty of cheese wheels to it, with a few even going as far as giving the Dragonborn the ability to summon NPCs by yelling their names or adding an Oblivion-style arena to Falkreath.

If you’re someone who’s more interested in taking a break from adventuring to decorate whichever cosy cavern, cabin or castle, you’ve decided to make your Dragonborn’s home, a new mod might be worth taking a look at.

Ever wished you could proudly show off items other than weapons and armour in Skyrim?

The mod in question is called ‘Showing off Stuff - Put random things on plaques - fish paintings doodads’, and is the latest work of prolific modder wSkeever. Some of their previous projects, created with fellow modder Kreiste, have sent you off on quests to help an Elven knight battle The Thalmor and rescue a witch from the Soul Cairn.

This time, they’ve decided to make it much easier for characters who don’t solely enjoy celebrating their achievements in battle to personalise the interiors of their humble abodes, by massively expanding what can be mounted on walls via weapon plaques.

As you can see in the showcase video installed, the list of mountable items now covers everything from Dwarven relics, to musical instruments and even fish, catering to a wide variety of interests your character might have developed as they’ve explored Tamriel.

Those with particularly artistic sensibilities can even use the mod to transform the plaques into mounting points for a selection of colourful paintings, some of which show off breathtaking landscapes or cute animals, by crafting empty canvas that’ll be used to create them.

That said, you won’t be able to swap out every weapon display in your house, as the mod only affects single-item plaques, meaning that those which can be used to show off multiple armaments and shields will have to remain as-is.

If you’re still in the mood to do some decorating, you’ll first need to grab AshenShugarII’s ‘Immersive Display Overhaul’ and Powerofthree’s ‘Keyword Item Distributor (KID)’, in order to get things working as intended.
