This guide will show players some of the best skills to unlock first in Star Wars Jedi Survivor. Skills are extremely important in Star Wars Jedi Survivor as players will have a harder time getting deeper into the game without upgrading stats or learning new abilities.
There are multiple skill trees to learn from, and can be a bit daunting for newer players given the increased difficulty compared to older Star Wars titles. Here are some of the upgrades to focus on first without needing to respec all skills.
Best Star Wars Jedi Survivor skills to unlock first
There are three main categories of skills in Star Wars Jedi Survivor: Survival, Lightsaber, and Force. Each have their own set of various skill trees and usefulness for keeping Jedi Knight Cal Kestis alive. Here are some of the highlights from each of the categories.
What you should note to start with is that you should focus on skills that fit the way you play. Don't waste skill point on skills for lightsaber stances that you don't use. You can respec in the game, but it'll cost you a skill point if you do it more than once. Therefore, be smart with what you choose.
Best Survival skills
The Survival category contains one skill tree called Resilience, which helps Cal heal and defend himself from various attacks. The first node of the tree is named Survival Skills, and increases Cal's maximum health. It has to be unlocked first before getting further upgrades.
Other skills that are helpful include Improved Stim Formula to raise the healing effect after taking Stimpacks, Improved Survival Skills for even more health, and Teamwork to speed up the healing animation.
Best Lightsaber skills
The Lightsaber category includes five skills trees for the available fighting stances in the game. This category can be focused later after players have experimented with each of the stances, so as to not waste upgrade points.
Players should still unlock the Twofold Reflection upgrade to reflect two consecutive shots, the Lunging Strike skill to close the distance on enemies, and the Aerial Assault upgrade to deliver a jumping attack. All are found in the Single tree, and will be most useful at the beginning of the game.
Best Force skills
The Force category has three skill trees: Jedi Concentration, Telekinesis, and Confusion. It is best to focus on Jedi Concentration to increase Cal's Force meter and regeneration, while Telekinesis can help throw enemies around for crowd control.

Under Telekinesis, Wrenching Pull will pull groups of enemies towards each other to slash at them more easily, and Radial Push to blast enemies farther with the Force.
