Most of the hardcore Bethesda RPG fans who’ve invested thousands of hours into Skyrim and Fallout 4 couldn’t wait for the chance to blast off into Starfield.
No matter whether you paid for early access or jumped into the game on September 6, odds are, if you’ve avoided spending all day downloading mods, you’ve likely already blazed through a lot of missions and moulded your character into a hardened spacer.
The game certainly boasts a lot of things to see and do, with a few players even having built a sandwich-shaped spaceship or swum through a milky way made of literal milk. While it seems like we’re still only scratching the surface of what’s possible in the base game, some players are already thinking about DLC.
Have you started thinking about what you want to see from Starfield’s DLC yet?
These content hungry cosmonauts have begun their brainstorming in a thread on the Starfield subreddit. User CT-4426 opened the can of worms by asking what people want to see either the already-confirmed Shattered Space expansion, or potential others to follow.
Among the top items and mechanics shared by a lot of the wishlists that’ve been shared in the thread so far is being able to pilot mechs, like the derelict Colony War relics you can come across as you roam the cosmos. Some have suggested these could be smaller suits, similar to Fallout’s power armour, in order to get around the in-universe legislation put in place to prohibit robotic warcrimes.
In terms of storylines, a lot of players seem to have decided that the Great Serpent-worshipping House Va'ruun have pretty much been set-up in base game to serve as a major player in an expansion that’ll help to flesh them out a lot more. On the other hand, some are agitating for a second Colony War to break out, just to spice things up a bit.
Plenty also want to be given more of a reason to establish outposts, either via the ability to turn them into larger and more complex settlements, or via a storyline such as the “Gold Rush scenario” suggested by user yoolov in the thread, which would see players incentivised to battle over incredibly rare and useful resources.
Meanwhile, a few of those in the thread have more simple desires, with the addition of a Dogmeat-style pet to add to your crew and take for walkies on alien worlds proving very popular.
