How to examine the satellite in Starfield
The Old Neighbourhood is a main mission of Starfield wherein you'll learn how to spacewalk on your own in traversing the game. As you've acquainted yourself with the Lodge and its crew, you can subsequently talk to Sarah more about Constellation. She'll then request that you travel to the Sol system and find a recruit who goes by the name Moara.
Later on, it's found out that Moara is in trouble and you'll need to travel from planet to planet to rescue him on Venus. Sarah will then teach you how to use stealth mode on your ship and examine the satellite.
Firstly, Sarah will request that you lower all of your ship's power except the engine's. But this includes weapons and shields since they are easily detectable. You can also opt for maximum stealth by powering down all systems except for one or two engine bars.
Moreover, you must stay away as far as possible from enemy ships. Then, you can travel near to the Satellite Beacon. So it's best to be within 500 meters of the beacon so you can activate it from afar. Once you're near the satellite, hit "Target" and this will cue the "Activate" prompt for you to examine the satellite.
As you've successfully examined the satellite, you'll then find out that Moara is going to the Nova Galactic Staryard for emergency repairs. But you'll then have to travel to Luna to reach him.
So there you have it! You now know how to examine the satellite and go into stealth mode in Starfield. To learn even more, be sure to check out our other guides on Starfield such as how to refuel a ship and how to pay off a bounty.
