Most of the hardcore Bethesda RPG fans who’ve invested thousands of hours into Skyrim and Fallout 4 can't wait for the release of Starfield.

Some are passing the time until September by examining June’s Starfield Direct in search of subtle details they might have originally missed or watching one of Fallout London’s modders break down its animations.

Meanwhile, one is showing the same kind of dedication that went into compiling the infamous document that details game’s entire history to this point, having commented on the game’s teaser trailer from 2021 over 700 times over the past couple of years.

Have you found an interesting way to pass the time until Starfield’s release?

The fan in question, who goes by the handle JalapeñoMayo, is currently on day 738 in the quest to comment on the trailer every single day until the game releases, which began all the way back on on June 21, 2021.

In this first comment, they declared: “Somebody has probably already done this but I still thought I’d be fun. So anyways, this is day one of exactly 500 days as of 6/26/2021. I’ve got a long road ahead.”

Against all odds, they’ve somehow managed to stick to their plan, despite the game’s delays having taken them far beyond their original 500 comment commitment.

They reached this milestone on November 9, 2022, two days prior to the game’s original release date of November 11 the same year, commenting: “I really did not expect to get this far. I’ve had a ton of fun doing these comments, but dang am I excited for Starfield to finally release.”

Rather charmingly, after running out of things to say about the game on day 7, each of their daily comments since that point has come with a little update as to what’s currently going on in their life.

A number have even contained reviews covering everything from Forza Horizon 5’s Rally Adventure DLC to the TV series Brooklyn 99. In case you’re wondering, JalapeñoMayo thought the former was “awesome” and declared that the latter’s final season isn’t as good as those that precede it.

While a couple of dedicated commenters have popped up at various points during JalapeñoMayo’s quest to congratulate them on their progress or respond to their life updates, Reddit user Rescuebobs is currently trying to get them some more love from the Starfield subreddit.
