Then, click on any location you've already discovered on the Starmap. Once done, a prompt will appear asking if you wish to perform a fast travel to that location. It's that simple!
Fancy moving off the surface of planets towards the atmosphere of another? You can do that too. Zoom out of the Starmap, highlight another planet, and then set a course to get there as quickly as possible.

Why can't I fast travel in Starfield
There are certain scenarios where fast travelling in Starfield isn't an option. Here's a closer look:
- Carrying too many items
- Being in combat
- Not having enough fuel
Inventory items have a specific mass. Depending on your mass, running will be slower and influence oxygen and stamina levels. It also stops you from using any kind of fast travel. To avoid this, drop any items you don't need and make sure the limit isn't crossed.
Combat is the next cause. There's no way of escaping the middle of a fight!
Finally, having enough fuel is essential if you're looking to hop across the galaxy to another city. To ensure fuel levels remain high, add a few more HE3 tanks by upgrading your ship or invest points into the Aerodynamics skill.
This is everything we know so far about fast travel in Starfield, and it seems that this mechanic is well integrated into the gameplay. It's cool that this feature relies on your ship, and is not a standard ability to teleport between different points.
