For those who’ve invested thousands of hours into the likes of Skyrim and Fallout 4, the release of Starfield can’t come soon enough.

Regardless of how you feel about the prospects of Bethesda's venture into space, what you think its version of Earth might look like or whether you like what it looks like in Far Cry 5, the idea of being able to delve into a freshly curated game filled with new quests, characters, and locations has RPG lovers of all stripes intrigued.

Recently, some of the folks eagerly awaiting their interstellar invitation have been discussing how they’ll approach constructing the craft that’ll propel them from planet to planet.

What does your ideal vessel for exploring Starfield’s galaxy look like?

The thread containing their aeronautical aims on the Starfield subreddit began with a post from user Thatfootballguy29, who kicked things off by asking: “What kind of ship are you looking to design in Starfield?”

Their fellow players chimed in with a range of different ideas, some of which took inspiration from existing sci-fi spacecraft. For example, user RandomnessConfirmed2 revealed that theirs will be: “(The) Millennium Falcon meets The Rocinante. A hauler with good defence capabilities,” while Bob_ross6969 declared: “I’m trying to at least get to the size of the Normandy (SR-1).”

Others simply outlined the philosophy that’ll inform their designs, with user PseudoShooter responding: “Something small and fast, equipped for exploration,” and XenoXenoson saying: “I'm going to aim for a ship that can carry all the interesting folks I can bring with me, packed with things for them (and me) to do.”

Some of the suggestions being thrown out there were a little more unorthodox, with user CromulentPoint outlining that their craft will: “Basically (be) a space Winnebago,” while Evi1_F3nix mused: “I'm trying to make a planet. I want people to be shocked at the size of her,” and Anonymous_Pigeon ominously proclaiming: “Space whale.”

Meanwhile, user ramrodski united two of the aforementioned schools of thought, describing their ideal craft as: “(A) Jawa Sandcrawler that’s space worthy. Full of junk and stuff to craft (things) out of.”
