Stellar Blade is a game enjoyed by combat enthusiasts, and those who play it will know it’s a solid combat-based RPG, similar to Nier Automata. It doesn’t matter what reasons you have for liking it, as Shift Up is planning to prioritize the title for Steam Deck.
Developer Shift Up told investors that the game was a success due to numerous reasons, like live-service-style updates that kept fans talking. Naturally, the devs plan on adding all the DLC content from PS5 to the PC version, which will be heavily optimized. Furthermore, the game will supposedly be prioritized for the Steam Deck, giving handheld gaming fans everything they want.
On PC, the title will launch with everything included after the PS5 game launched, including New Game Plus. It’s not just familiar one-handed gaming that Stellar Blade fans can get on Steam Deck, as the action title will continue to get new content. Based on the wording, the PS5 version will also receive the new content coming to PC, so nobody gets left behind.
It will be interesting to see how the action RPG runs on Steam Deck, given how the handheld is sort of underpowered these days. Hopefully, the team at Shift Up can optimize the visuals that make it playable on Steam Deck without sacrificing visual fidelity. Only time will tell if this is a good port, but fans might want to get used to 30 FPS.
There is still no release date for Stellar Blade on PC, though Shift Up did say that this port will be coming out sometime in 2025. No further details were revealed, but fans are looking forward to playing the game on their computers. Whether it’s a high-end computer displaying it in 4K or the Steam Deck where it’s more limited but comfortable will depend on the kind of player.
For now, that’s everything we know about Stellar Blade getting optimized for the Steam Deck and PC. Meanwhile, gamers can also read about Mai Shiranui getting her best outfit modded into Street Fighter 6 and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth PC mods.
