The Switch 2 has been built up as a powerhouse, so fans everywhere have high hopes for Nintendo’s new system. Granted, this system is still only around as powerful as a PS4, but gamers won’t care about it that much if the games are there. Since Nintendo has learned from their failures during the Wii U generation, we’re sure the launch lineup will be better.
But what games do we want to see? Well, we asked ourselves which games would show a ton of promise during the console’s launch. Since everyone at Gfinity loves the original Switch, we went all out on our guesses for what could be coming in this new system.

Square Enix has been a major ally to Nintendo during the Switch generation, so seeing their more powerful games come to Switch 2 would be a treat. There are obvious examples like Final Fantasy VII Remake and Rebirth. It would also be cool to see lesser-known games like Valkyrie Elysium and Star Ocean: The Divine Force debut on the new console.
Rumors of the new joy-con's mouse-like features mean we could also have a more comfortable way of playing certain games. CRPGs like Baldur’s Gate 3 would benefit from that, as would big strategy games like Civilization 7. This also has the 3DS fan in me hoping that the unique Kid Icarus: Uprising will get ported here, maybe even get a sequel this time.

On day one of Switch 2, I want to see a huge patch for Pokemon Violet, but that game may have deeper issues than a patch can fix. A new Mario Kart would be lovely. 8 has been incredible all these years, but a fresh twist would be nice. Outside of that, I would like Metroid Prime 4 to finally be released and a new 3D Mario game of some sort.

Upon seeing the teaser for the Switch 2, I already wondered if it's already beefed up for highly demanding games. I really want to see Cyberpunk 2077 with Phantom Liberty, Warhammer 40K Space Marine 2 and Monster Hunter Wilds run on this highly anticipated Nintendo console!
