How Do I Use Pokémon Sword and Shield Codes? - Mystery Gift Menu Location

Using any Pokémon Sword and Shield codes you come across is a relatively simple process. So long as you've obtained the Pokédex in-game, you should notice the Mystery Gift button on the game's main menu - just look for that inviting present button.

Once you're on there (and connected to the internet), just tap the Get with code/password option and type in any of the working Pokémon Sword and Shield codes above. Your reward will be dropped into your PC, bag, or party depending on the reward, and you'll be free to redeem another.

Another thing that's worth noting here is that the first Mystery Gift option "Get via Internet" is for event-specific items that don't require Pokémon Sword and Shield codes at all. These typically run during tournaments or other big events (like a movie premiere), but it doesn't hurt to check it once in a while to make sure you're not missing out on anything.

The other, 'via local communication' isn't for trading with friends, but for when Mystery Gift items are being distributed at in-person events. Not many of these tend to happen outside of Japan these days, but they used to be the primary method back before most Pokémon games had internet capabilities.

With the run-up to the Pokémon World Championships now fully underway, expect new Pokémon Sword and Shield codes to drop at each major event. You can keep track of those over at the Play! Pokémon events page. Until Pokémon Scarlet and Violet are released, codes will continue to release for Pokémon Sword and Shield instead.
