Tumbleweeds in The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom are fragile items scattered throughout the Gerudo Desert. You are tasked with collecting tumbleweed for a researcher in Gerudo Town, who is intrigued by their mysterious properties.
Successfully delivering the tumbleweed rewards you with two Might Crystals, which can be used to upgrade abilities or equipment. Here’s how to do this.
How To Collect Tumbleweed in the Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom
To unlock the Elusive Tumbleweeds side quest in The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, you will need to visit Gerudo Town, which is a key location during the A Rift in the Gerudo Desert main quest.
As you proceed through the main story, you'll naturally arrive in Gerudo Town, where the quest becomes available. The quest giver is a Gerudo woman standing on some stairs on the west side of the town.
Once you speak with her, she will ask you to retrieve a tumbleweed from the desert.
After picking up the quest, exit the town via the southern gate and wait for tumbleweeds to roll in from the desert. The tricky part is that tumbleweeds are quite fragile and will dissolve upon contact with obstacles or enemies. That said, you can't physically pick up the tumbleweed; otherwise, it will disintegrate. Instead, use Tri’s Bind ability to capture it.
Tumbleweeds appear sporadically, so it's important to stay patient and alert as you wait for them to roll into view. Once you've secured a tumbleweed, the real challenge is carefully transporting it back to Gerudo Town without it breaking.
To avoid mishaps, choose a clear and straightforward path, preferably through the western side of town. This route bypasses potential obstacles like pots, animals, and NPCs that could cause the tumbleweed to break.
Even though the trip isn't far, the fragility of the tumbleweed means you’ll need to proceed cautiously, as a single misstep could mean starting over.
After successfully delivering the tumbleweed, you’ll be rewarded with 2 Might Crystals for completing the quest.
