Who remembers when Blizzard announced a Warcraft-themed mobile game in 2022? You're not alone if you'd forgotten, but Warcraft Arclight Rumble has just been given an official release date, and a brand new name, now to be known as simply Warcraft Rumble.

As the latest World of Warcraft spin-off title, Warcraft Rumble will be Blizzard's first venture into the world of mobile gaming.

Blizzard have made little comment on the development of Warcraft Rumble in recent months, so the announcement that the game's release is imminent is something of a surprise.

The release date for Warcraft Rumble has now been confirmed

Posted in a tweet to the official Warcraft Rumble X, formerly Twitter, account, Warcraft Rumble has a confirmed release date of November 3, 2023, which will also be the day that BlizzCon returns in-person after a 4-year hiatus. BlizzCon will be running from November 3-4 in California, at the Anaheim Convention Center.

Blizzard will be hoping that Warcraft Rumble will be better received than some of its recent announcements, with Overwatch 2 fans still reeling from the cancellation of the promised PvE mode, as well as the apparent end to the OWL esports program.

Warcraft Rumble is a "tower-offense" game, where the player deploys automated units with the goal of destroying an opposing tower or enemy. Battles take place on a vertical map where the player send their heroes or creatures down different lanes to reach the enemies. Gameplay appears somewhat similar to the game Clash Royale in nature.

In their announcement, Blizzard confirmed some of the characters we can expect to see from Azeroth. The likes of Jaina Proudmoore, Grommash Hellscream, and Hogger are all confirmed to be coming with the release of Warcraft Rumble.

Blizzard has also stated that the game will both have single-player and multiplayer features, with a "massive single-player campaign" and "deep player-versus-player systems". Many other gameplay modes have been promised, with Blizzard aiming to cater towards players of all skill levels.
