The Warzone 2 circle collapse has undergone numerous changes in Call of Duty's latest battle royale extravaganza. Typically, a single circle becomes smaller over the course of a match but in Warzone 2, the circle mechanics are significantly different.

Infinity Ward has changed the circle in a bid to spice up the action before the final battle takes place. Some matches will feature one shrinking area while others contain multiple to encourage plenty of close-quarters combat.

How does the Warzone 2 circle work?

Ahead of the launch, Infinity Ward shares more information on how the circle operates during a typical battle royale match. As mentioned above, some matches contain a single circle that collapses to create a small battleground for the remaining players.

In some cases, there's a chance the circle splits into three for more action in specific areas of the map. This usually happens between the first and final two collapses so positioning is a key ingredient to achieving success.

Although it's tricky, it is possible to engage with other players inside another circle so bear that in mind when running across open areas. Thanks to stims and gas masks, you can make your way between circles but it's very risky.

Warzone 2 final circle explained

Following the circle split, all three areas will merge together again so predicting the rotation is crucial in order to avoid the encroaching boundary. Eventually, the circles will meet in the middle of the map so plan your next moves accordingly.

How to predict Warzone 2 circle split

It's impossible to predict when the circle splits in Warzone 2. However, everyone knows that it splits between the second and final two collapses so preparing for the inevitable rotation is key.

If the battle royale includes the Foresight contract, there's always a chance you can see where the circles will appear later in the match. If you don't manage to complete the contract, it's probably best to use the Tac Map to evade the gas at all times.
