Since the launch of Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2, players have continued dropping into multiplayer and the battle royale. Although both titles have their fair share of game-breaking bugs and glitches, they’re not stopping fans from getting their Call of Duty fix.
With the launch of Season Two right around the corner, Infinity Ward and Raven Software continue unveiling content arriving as part of the update. The return of the 1v1 gulag and the appearance of an iconic Modern Warfare 2 game mode have the chance to inject a breath of fresh air into the current cycle.
Although the sound of new content is exciting, the Steam player count for Warzone 2 and MW2 has reached an all-time low, leaving many fans concerned.
Why is nobody playing MW2 and Warzone 2?
There are several factors contributing to the low player count on Valve’s Steam platform. Whether it’s a stale meta or hackers ruining matches, why would players decide to load in? Reddit user pubgisDEAD claims the upcoming update “is not going to save” the games.
The surprising decline in the Steam player count has caught the attention of the community. One fan believes the low numbers are down to the numerous issues that impact players on a regular basis. “That’s what happens when you make a broken game and don’t fix it,” they explain.
On the other hand, another believes the problem lies with the lack of original content. “It’s the zero new content. It’s either recycled or not enough to last 3 months.” With no new maps or innovative features, it’s clear to see why players are jumping ship and not returning.
