After three seasons of post-launch content, the opinions of Warzone 2 community have of the game continue to be pretty divided. On one hand, there are many that enjoy dropping into Al Mazrah but on the other, there are some that believe Infinity Ward has missed the mark too often.
With Season 4 on the horizon and the imminent arrival of the Vondel map, fans have recently been sharing their expectations before loading into the new battlefield leaked by a world-famous house DJ.
The start of a new season often brings widespread changes to various aspects of the game and if recent reports are reliable, Season 4 will seemingly see a brand new, yet familiar, name applied to Call of Duty’s battle royale title.
Is Warzone 2 changing name?
According to CharlieINTEL, the ‘2’ from Warzone 2 will disappear once Season 4 commences, much to the annoyance of fans, who've been left wondering why the digit was added in the first place.
The account says the game should’ve stuck with the original title of Warzone “from the start…2.0 did not do anything.” Players were quick to acknowledge the decision to change the title worked well in order to promote a new era for the battle royale, but hindsight is a wonderful thing.
Instead of branding it as a new era, one player believes Warzone 2 “should have been a standalone title from the start of MW2,” suggesting a separate entity could’ve improved parts of the game that players continue to criticise.
“More pointless changes. Bravo for doing the bare minimum,” replies another frustrated fan that believes there are other areas of the game which need fixing, rather than it undergoing a simple name change.
In addition to the apparent name change, Season 4 is bound to contain plenty of adjustments to enhance the gameplay experience for everyone. Let’s hope there are no more name changes planned for the update.
