April 13, 2023: Season 3 is now underway and we've updated our guide to highlight the new Operators in the battle royale.

Warzone 2 Operators are a hot topic of conversation as players prepare to drop into Call of Duty's brand-new battle royale experience. First arriving in 2019's Modern Warfare, Operators give players the ability to choose their favourite playable characters to take into battle. There are also plenty of skins to unlock.

Operators return in Warzone 2 alongside a brand-new arsenal of weapons and a new map packed with a variety of points of interest to explore over the course of a match.

Before we take a closer look at the Warzone 2 Operators, take a look at our guides containing our early Warzone 2 meta predictions and all there is to know about the new Warzone 2 map.

How many Operators are in Warzone 2?

There are a total of 36 playable Operators available to use in the battle royale. This number is expected to rise to 26 when the game launches as the start of a new season will bring in a brand-new character.

Warzone 2 Operator list

Just like the first Warzone, Operators are split into two factions known as SpecGru and KorTac. There are plenty of familiar faces from the Modern Warfare series and some notable names from Verdansk and Caldera. Here's the full list of Operators:

How to unlock Warzone 2 Operators

The majority of unlock requirements for the Warzone 2 Operators involve playing Modern Warfare 2 which is far from ideal if you don't own the game. When the battle royale launches, we'll update the guide with a full list of unlock requirements.

Best Warzone 2 Operators

It's unclear which Operators are better than others in Warzone 2. Although they're meant to be purely cosmetic, some are better at blending into certain areas of the map. There's always a chance one or two Operator skins will offer an advantage but we'll have to wait and see which ones prove popular in the early stages of Season 1.

Warzone 2 season 1 Operators

So far, there's no intel on which Operators are arriving as part of the Season 1 update. Whoever appears, they'll arrive as part of the Season 1 battle pass that also contains a couple of new weapons.

The new Operator should unlock at Tier 0 while an exclusive outfit will appear at Tier 100.
